About Me
Welcome! My name is Sowmya. I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins University, with a focus in developing bioinformatics pipelines and statistical tools for long-read mRNA sequencing to explore isoform expression. Prior to Hopkins, I was at UC San Diego, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science with a Machine Learning focus.
I am passionate about leveraging statistical methods to understand complex biological systems. My research interests include developing computational tools for (bulk, single, and spatial!) transcriptomic data analysis, and exploring the role of alternative splicing in neurodegenerative diseases.
Feel free to reach out to me on Twitter or LinkedIn. I am always excited to chat about science, data, and everything in between!
